Books can be an excellent way to study the fundamentals of language, yet online classes or courses at the community college in your area or instructional videos can be useful for studying a language and keeping the mind active.

 

Go for a jog

Consistent exercise is great for the body, but there is evidence that jogging can benefit brain health by boosting oxygen flow.  You do not have to run a marathon, yet making jogging a part of your routine exercise program may be beneficial.

 

Be more social

Social activities, such as going to a party or having supper with friends, may seem like a waste of time for some, but social situations help to keep the mind focused and sharp.

Social activities do not need to be long and dragged out. Even having a latte with friends for 30 minutes may assist in keeping the brain sharp.
